Integrating International and Domestic Students: Past, Present, and Future
Many changes have been implemented in the last few years to better support our incoming undergraduate international students – and to help our domestic students understand the value that diversity brings to their undergraduate experience. What more can we be doing? Where should we target our efforts to be sure that we aren’t just helping international students “fit in” but rather truly bringing their strengths to bear on the community? In addition, where are we giving our domestic students the opportunity to truly understand the perspective of international students? Our presenters will provide information on current efforts and guide discussion on where we each can target efforts within our individual offices and programs.
Presenters: Lee Seedorff, Senior Associate Director, International Student and Scholar Services; Michelle Cohenour, Director, Retention & Early-Intervention; Andrew Beckett, Assistant Dean, University College
Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) Survey
